Bobcat Launches New R-Series TL723 & TL923 Telehandler Models
Bobcat has announced a pair of all-new R-Series telehandlers for farm use, snow removal, construction, landscaping, and more. The 100-horsepower (74.5-kilowatt) TL723 and the 135-HP (100-kW) TL923 need no diesel particulate filter (DPF) to comply with Tier 4 emissions standards. The manufacturer says their redesigned cabs are more comfortable and that the machines offer smooth precision, fast cycle times, and easy service.
Two Models
The new Bobcat TL723 has a 7,700-pound (3,493-kilogram) rated lift capacity. Its telescoping boom attains a maximum reach of 161.5 inches (4,102 millimeters) and a lift height of 274 in. (6,960 mm). The 17,155-lb (7,781-kg) telehandler can travel at up to 18.7 mph (30 km/h).
Bobcat’s TL923 offers a larger, 9,041-lb (4,101-kg) capacity and a higher, 24.8 mph (40 km/h) top speed with reach and lift height similar to the TL723’s. Its operating weight is 18,158 lbs (8,236 kg). The manufacturer says the TL923’s Z-bar boom linkage allows for greater bucket rotation range, a higher dump angle at full height, and additional breakout force.
Common Features
Both new telescoping tool carriers have a turbocharged diesel engine and a hydrostatic transmission with high wheel torque. Bobcat worked to make the machines start reliably in cold weather. Both models have a rigid box-welded frame, a shielded bottom plate, and a low center of gravity.
The TL723 and TL923 feature Bobcat’s Power Quick-Tach mounting system for non-hydraulic attachments. The telehandlers have automatic ride control, four steering modes, and four travel speeds. Their five operation modes allow the operator to tailor the machines for fuel economy, gentle or maximum acceleration and deceleration, full performance with auxiliary hydraulic attachments, or separate management of travel speed and engine speed.
Ergonomic Interiors
The air-conditioned cab on the new Bobcats features a wraparound rear-view window which, along with the low-profile boom and a lower engine basket, increases visibility for the operator. The TL723 and TL923 have front, top, and rear window wipers to help maintain visibility, as well as optional rear mirror, rearview camera, and boom work light kits.
The cab presents the operator with familiar, automotive-style instrumentation. Many of the telehandlers’ features can be controlled with a multi-function joystick. In the case of the TL923, the joystick is mounted on the seat with an adjustable armrest. The seat has an air suspension, and in the TL923 the seat is heated as well.
